A Journey from Law to Ethical Bliss

A Note From Our Founder

From the law library, where I analyzed the intricacies of the law, to the yoga mat, where I found balance, my journey has been anything but ordinary. As a mother, I faced tough decisions to ensure the well-being of my daughters. While colleagues in the legal world knew me for my research skills, little did they know that this passion would lead me to question the fabric of our daily lives, from the food we eat to the air we breathe.

This is my story, a tale of a lawyer, a mother, and a researcher, all culminating in the birth of Ethical Bliss

A Lawyer with a Researcher’s Heart

My love for research wasn’t just a fleeting interest but a calling that led me to law school. There, I earned my J.D. degree and went on to specialize with an LL.M., a master of laws. I ran my private practice for a decade, navigating complex cases and legal intricacies.

The Balance of Body and Soul

While the office witnessed my analytical side, the yoga mat saw a different side. For over 15 years, yoga has been my sanctuary. Yoga is so much more than loose hamstrings. It provides self-care and balance amidst the chaos.

In addition to my thousands of hours of practice, I have over 200 hours of intensive yoga teacher training, mainly in power and Ashtanga yoga. The time I have dedicated to teaching others has been profoundly fulfilling.

Service Beyond Self

While my colleagues often admired (and sometimes joked about) my knack for diving deep into any topic, my desire to contribute extended beyond the confines of the law office and the yoga mat. Whether it was the mere mention of a health concern, a financial query, or even a potential new vacuum cleaner, they knew they could expect a comprehensive report by the next day.

Committed to community and service, I’ve served on various boards, including as a director and officer, notably on the board of a tuition-free sleep-away camp for girls from low-income families. These roles allowed me to influence and shape decisions, ensuring that the community’s best interests were always at the forefront.

A Mother’s Determination

Tracy and Her Three Daughters

Life took a turn with the birth of my first daughter. While breastfeeding, she had allergic reactions to the food I ate, causing her extreme discomfort. While doctors suggested a hypoallergenic formula as an alternative, my passion for nursing was unwavering. I knew the benefits, and, as always, I was determined.

Through extensive research, I narrowed my diet to seven pure, organic foods, ensuring she could be nursed without pain. The pediatric gastroenterologist following my case was surprised. He hadn’t had a mother push back and figure it out. This experience was a testament to my belief that we can overcome any challenge with the right knowledge and determination.

The same thing happened with my second and third daughters, and each time, I changed my diet so they could be nursed without pain.

The Birth of Ethical Bliss

This journey with my daughters and their reactions to the food I was eating opened my eyes to the broader implications of our choices. I began questioning the origin of fresh food, the contents of boxed food, the chemicals in our household cleaners, and the overall impact of these choices on our environment. It became evident that everything was interconnected. The additives and chemicals we use end up in our water and soil, eventually making their way back to us. This revelation, combined with my love for analytical research, self-care, and the well-being of my girls, led to the inception of Ethical Bliss.

How I Try To Live

I don’t live a completely natural lifestyle, but I aim to make healthier choices for my family and our way of life. I generally follow an 80/20 rule, and when it flips to 20/80, I don’t stress about it. I avoid unnecessary purchases and reuse, repurpose, or recycle items whenever possible. I prioritize eating organic, especially with fruits and vegetables that have thin skins, and I diligently research the ingredients in the products we use. I share this research here for you to utilize as you see fit, helping you embrace natural living at your own pace. Remember, even small changes can make a big impact.
